Beauty routines, wellness tips, period hacks and skincare secrets that will help you unwind, boost your glow, and recharge both your body and mind. ✨😍
Hi friends! ☕️
Not gonna lie, this week had me one meltdown away from a reality show 😂.
I’ve taken on so many projects, I’m basically a human rubber band 🏃♀️—stretched thin.
Between work, life, and trying to squeeze in some me-time, I’m running on fumes 😮💨.
And honestly, I can’t tell if it’s that time of the month or if I’m just losing it 🤷♀️.
That’s why I’m sharing my 5-step wind-down skincare routine 🧖♀️, must-know time of the month survival tips🩸 and how I’m keeping it together with this mindset.
My wind-down routine after a rough night…
When you finally take 15 minutes for you and emerge feeling like a whole new human… ✨
Nothing makes me feel better than completely shutting off and focusing on something else—like my elaborate nighttime routine.
When my kids are finally asleep 😴, I begin my wind down skincare ritual that makes me feel human again.
Here’s the breakdown:
Step 1: Cleansing Balm 🧼
I start with a tumeric cleansing balm that melts away makeup and the stress of the day—perfect for those cold winter nights when my skin needs a little extra love.
Step 2: Eucalyptus Steam 🌿
Next, I take 5 minutes to just breathe in the steam with a few drops of eucalyptus oil. It feels like an instant spa at home and helps me de-stress like nothing else.
Step 3: Clay Mask 🧖♀️
After steaming, I apply a de-puffing face mask to unclog pores and give my skin a deep clean. It’s like wiping the slate clean after a long day, leaving me refreshed and glowing.
Step 4: Emulsion 💧
I layer on an emulsion to lock in moisture without feeling heavy. It’s the perfect hydrating boost that my skin craves after masking.
Step 5: Under Eye Pads 👁️
And finally, I throw on some chilled undereye pads because let’s be real—after chasing kids all day, my under-eyes need all the help they can get. These pads instantly de-puff and brighten!
5 period hacks to keep you sane…
Every month, my husband gives me this oh-so-sweet look and says in his nicest voice…
“Hey babe... you think it’s that time again? What can I do for you?” 😂 And, with 99% accuracy (ugh, I hate to admit it), he’s always right! lol.
Here are my top hacks:
1. Cortisol Manager 🧘♀️
Mood swings? Stress? My naturopath introduced me to this therapeutic supplement—it calms the storm. I take it when those mood swings kick in.
2. Bye, Tampons 👋
With all the talk about toxins, I’ve switched to pads whenever I can. Why? The idea of tampons just hanging out for too long? No thanks.
3. Magic Heat Bag 🔥
If you’re not using a microwaveable heat pack for cramps, what are you doing? Total game changer for quick relief.
4. Hormone Tea 🍵
My mom’s secret weapon—healthy menstrual cycle tea. It helps with bloating and mood swings, plus it’s like a cozy hug in a cup.
5. Self-Care Pass 🛋️
Skip the gym. Grab the snacks. Binge the shows. Your body needs the break—guilt-free! Listen to your body—it knows when it’s time to rest.
Why I had a meltdown (and why it’s OK)
K, let’s be real—this one hits hard for me right now.
I’m juggling so many projects, and oh yeah, I’m also a mom of two, so life feels like a non-stop tornado. 🌪️
I thought I could handle it all, but this week? Total meltdown.
I seriously felt like I was failing at everything—like, laundry piling up, meals to prep, Costco runs, kids refusing to eat anything green... ugh, it was just too much. 😵💫
Here’s what I’ve come to realize: It’s OK. It’s OK to have a meltdown, to feel like you’re juggling a million things, and to not have it all together.
Because guess what?
The to-do list never ends. That laundry? It’s not going anywhere. The dust on the shelf? Trust me, it can wait.
Your mental health comes first. I’m learning that balance doesn’t mean getting it all done—it means knowing when to pause and just... breathe.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup—so take time to refill yours.”
If you only take one thing from this week, just remember—it's OK to slow down. Rest is part of the journey. 💕
