My mom is aging backwards?! š¤ÆāØ
Sheās been hiding more skincare secrets from me and I finally got her to spill. Let's just say I'm copying everything. š§“š

Hi beautiful, āļø
Lately, Iāve been having big feelings. š«
Maybe itās because Iām creeping closer to 40ā¦
Or maybe itās the realization that time is moving way too fast. šØ
One minute Iām in my 20s, casually ignoring the concept of sunscreen, and the next, Iām researching neck creams and ergonomic pillows.
Aging is weirdāit makes you hyper-aware of everything.
So today, weāre diving into:
My momās skincare secrets (because aging well is a flex, and she has mastered it)
How getting older makes you rethink... literally everything
3 things Iām doing to stay present instead of spiralling about time
Letās get into it.šļø

sipping my wine, contemplating how my mom looks younger than meā¦ š·
65, but looks 40?! My momās skincare hacks
Asian moms never age.
They survive on one bowl of rice, a cup of hot water, and sheer willpower.
They can detect lies from miles away and think all health problems can be solved with drinking more tea. šµ
My mom is 65 but looks decades younger, while I, her actual child, look tired at all times.
Hereās what I found out:
1ļøā£ She swears by her micro-current device.
She uses this face-zapping tool to keep her skin liftedābasically a non-surgical facelift. For 65, her fine lines and wrinkles are rarely visible! š
Tip: Apply a conductive gel before use, or risk feeling like youāre getting tiny electric shocks.
2ļøā£ She has been using the same luxury skincare line for decades.
For as long as I can remember, this Japanese essence lotion, treatment softener, and bio-advance moisturizing cream have been her holy grail. She swears by them and no matter what, she always goes back to these staples! š
Tip: Find a skincare line you love and actually stick to itāconsistency is her real secret.
3ļøā£ She does 'double moisturizing' like itās a religion.
One moisturizer? Not enough. She layers hydrating water toner + a potent rich cream. š¦ Sheās a firm believer that dry skin = aging faster.
Tip: Wait 30 seconds between layers to let each product absorb fully.
4ļøā£ She uses rice water like itās liquid gold.
Homemade rice water in a spray bottle = her secret weapon for bright, bouncy skin. š
Tip: Let the rice water ferment overnight for even more skin benefits and keep it in the fridge! Donāt have time or rice? Hereās one you can use asap.
5ļøā£ She eats peach gum for collagen.
Peach gum, a resin from peach trees, is packed with collagen and anti-aging benefits. š
Tip: Soak it overnight before cookingāit softens into a jelly-like texture thatās easier to eat.
Iām fully adopting her ways because if I inherit nothing else, at least let me have the good skin. āØ

Getting older = minor existential crisis?
Aging is so weird because one day youāre just vibing through lifeā¦
And the next, youāre lying awake at 2 AM thinking:
Am I where Iām supposed to be?! š¤Æ
Why does 2005 feel like 10 years agoā¦ (when itās actually 20?!) š
At what point did I start caring about kitchen organization and ergonomic chairs?! š”šŖ
I swear, the older I get, the faster time moves.
And with kids? Itās like someone hit the fast-forward button. ā©
Itās this weird mix of panic and appreciation.
Panic because life is moving way too fast. Appreciation because getting older also gives you clarity. āØ
Like, things I used to obsess over? Irrelevant. The people who actually matter? Crystal clear.
I guess aging forces you to figure out whatās actually important (and also, which under-eye concealer hides the existential dread). Iāve got you. Itās this one.
Still, Iām trying to embrace time instead of freaking out about it.
But yes, I will have a minor meltdown over fine lines. š«

me pausingā¦ for the aesthetic. šāØ
3 things Iām tricking myself into slowing downā¦
Life is a blur.
One second itās Monday, and the next, your kid is asking for a snackā¦ while still chewing the last one. š«
Hereās whatās actually helping me hit pause and enjoy the moment:
Sitting down for mealsālike, actually sitting. šŖ
No eating while standing, scrolling, or answering emails. Just sitting like a civilized human. It sounds basic, but when I actually focus on my food, I enjoy it more (and donāt end up mindlessly snacking on my kidsā leftovers).Doing something with my hands. š¤
I started playing piano again, and somehow, it makes time feel slower. Cooking, doodling, folding laundryāanything that gets me off my phone and into the real world. Bonus: my screen time report finally stopped judging me.Romanticizing the little things. āļø
A hot cup of tea in my favorite mug. Fresh sheets. My nighttime skincare routine (stolen from my mom). Itās not about adding more to lifeāitās about noticing whatās already good.Getting ready to my fav playlist šµ
Lately, doing my makeup has become my way to slow down and enjoy the moment. But nothing ruins the vibe like looking in the mirror and thinking, āWhy do I look kinda off?ā š© I figured out whyāand Iām spilling the fixes in my latest YouTube video.
And sure, time is flying, but if I can slow down enough to actually feel it, thatās enough.
So hereās to soaking up the little moments, staying present, and aging like we actually enjoy it. āØ (Fine lines and all!)
