Here's my before & after makeup look and beauty secrets I learned to help you shine at your next event! πβ¨
Hi beautiful! βοΈ
Welcome back to this weekβs newsletter! π
This week, Iβm sharing a very special wedding I attended and some behind-the-scenes on what went on that day!
Whether you're planning your own wedding, attending someone else's, or just love a good celebration, there's something here for you. π
Let's talk beauty tips, dresses that flatter every body shape and heartfelt reflections on family and new beginnings. π
So who got married?
My brotherβ¦.Will! He's six years younger than I am, and let me tell you, growing up with him was quite the adventure. π’
I always begged my parents for a sibling because I was playing alone for the first six years of my life. π₯Ή
I desperately wanted a bff. So when Will came along, it really completed our family. π₯°
And guess what? I got my forever friend, and a bit moreβ¦
I loved putting him in dresses and hair ties and pretended I had a little sister. π
The wedding was beautiful β full of laughter, happy tears, and of course, stunning outfits. π
Hereβs me and my favourite human. Married for 8 years and he still tolerates me! π₯°π
I got a lot of compliments on this dress π€ β I bought it at a local store here in Vancouver called Park & Fifth which is known for their bridal and bridesmaids dresses.
From plain to prettyβ¦.
Waking up at 6:30 AM to get ready was no joke. π΄
I felt exhausted the night before and barely got any sleep, as you can probably tell from my first photo! π
Despite that, I managed to pull off a natural glam look that I absolutely loved!πβ¨
BEFORE | AFTER |
Guess who did my makeup? Denise Elliott! She also did my wedding makeup 8 years ago! π€― #timeflies
Denise is an award-winning makeup artist and my go-to for flawless looks.
Denise working her magic πͺ Mixing her makeup cocktails for that perfect bridesmaid look for me! π«
She also dropped some wedding makeup tips, and Iβm spilling the tea! π΅
She used this clean makeup brand for my base (never heard of it before, but LOVED it!). It's talc-free and non-comedogenic and it stayed on all day. π
Denise swears by these caviar eyeshadow sticks. She used this and this color on me. π
For all-day lip color (because my lipstick always disappears by afternoon!), her tip was to use a lip stain to put on as a base β then apply a gloss touch-up before walking down the aisle. π
And OMG, Iβve been using setting spray all wrong! Denise taught me to do a slow, long spray (like veiling your skin). Total game-changer and no touch-ups needed all day. She swears by this one! π€―
Dresses that do double duty!
Iβve been a bridesmaid a few times in my life. π

Big Sister Feels
Seeing my younger brother get married was a mix of emotions.
I felt proud, nostalgic, and a bit sentimental. π₯Ή
Growing up in a traditional Chinese family, gatherings are always a big deal.
Hereβs what Iβve learnedβ¦
Family is everything in Chinese culture. We stick together through thick and thin. πͺοΈ
TIP: Embrace family traditions, they keep you connected.
Always show respect to the older generation. Itβs a sign of good upbringing. π΅
TIP: A simple bow or polite greeting goes a long way.
Expect lots of food, loud conversations, and everyone wanting to know about your life. π
TIP: Smile, nod, and enjoy the food. Trust me, itβs worth it.
Prepare for the aunties asking, βWhen is it your turn?β π°
TIP: Smile and say, βOne day!β (or divert the question to someone else!) π
As the big sister, watching my brother start his new life chapter made me reflect on our journey as siblings.
Growing up together, sharing laughs, and now seeing him embark on this new adventure is truly special.
Itβs a reminder that life is full of beautiful moments, and we should cherish them. π
