Self-care hacks and wellness tips to beat sick-day stress, boost your mood, and recover faster! 😉🫶
Hey beautiful! ☕️
Let me just say, this past week was… something else. ✨
I got sick. My daughter was already sick. Then my son got a stomach bug. That’s when I officially started panicking.
Enter: the no-daycare zone 😩.
And of course, this all happens when I’ve got a million projects going on.
I’m handing over my “stay-sane” toolkit to survive the madness.
We’re talking skincare tips when you’re sick, wellness hacks for me and the littles, and a few headspace check-ins to keep me from running away to join the circus.
Because, yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel. 😉
Sick day skincare (because a little boost won’t hurt…) ⛈️
When I’m feeling low and battling a bug, everything feels like too much.
My skin’s dull, my lips are dry, and honestly….
Looking in the mirror just makes me feel worse.
Taking care of myself? It’s usually the first thing to go when I’m trying to survive the day.

But I’ve learned that even a little boost—just a few easy steps—can make all the difference.
Here are my top 5 skincare tips that help me look a little more human, even on the roughest sick days.
Gentle Cleansing
When I’m feeling under the weather, I skip the heavy-duty cleanser and use a gentle, hydrating cleanser that refreshes without stripping my skin.
TIP: A mild cleanser keeps your skin calm and soft, even when you’re too tired for your usual routine. ✨Spritz + Mist
I love a soothing facial mist. A few spritzes can instantly lift your spirits and refresh your skin.
TIP: A quick mist hydrates and cools—perfect for days when you feel rundown but need a little boost. 💦Vitamin C Glow-Up
When I’m looking as tired as I feel, adding a vitamin C serum for a quick, brightening glow gives me that much needed pick me up.
TIP: Vitamin C helps even out skin tone, so you look fresh, even if you don’t feel it. 🍊Lip Balm
Cold air and tissues can dry out my lips fast. Apply a hydrating lip balm throughout the day keeps them soft.
TIP: Constant moisture is key for lips that feel comfortable and look smooth—even with a cold. 💄Moisturize > Makeup
When I’m sick, I give my skin a break from makeup and layer on a rich moisturizer instead. It keeps my skin hydrated and happy.
TIP: Skipping makeup reduces your nighttime routine and gives your skin a breather. 🛌
Sick day hacks (that actually work!)
When the whole house is down for the count, including you, things get real.
Here’s my mini survival guide:
Ginger Tea 🍵
Brew fresh ginger slices in hot water with a touch of honey to calm a scratchy throat.
TIP: Add a few sprinkles of salt to help relieve a sore throat or upset tummy.
Vitamin D 🌞
Get a daily dose of vitamin D to support your immune system, especially in colder months.
TIP: Adding K2 to Vitamin D keeps you energized and helps your body stay resilient.
Steam 🌫️
Use a facial steamer with a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a soothing steam session.
TIP: Add a few drops to a cotton pad and place near the spout of the steamer.
Boost Kids Immunity👧🧒
Give them a daily multivitamin along with an immune booster like elderberry or vitamin C gummies.
TIP: Adding zinc can also help with boosting their immune system
Saltwater Gargle 🧂
Mix a teaspoon of salt in warm water and gargle for 30 seconds.
TIP: Add Manuka honey with a good MGO rating to help reduces swelling and bacteria to ease soreness naturally.

Your body knows best…🌿
I know it’s tempting to power through all the chores and projects, but sometimes you’ve just gotta hit pause.
When you’re sick, your body is begging for rest. So let it rest.
The to-do list? It’ll still be there tomorrow. So, take this time to heal and recharge.
Remember, resting is actually productive when you’re sick.
“Sick days: when your body forces you to live that 'do-nothing' lifestyle you’ve been dreaming about."
It’s an investment in feeling better sooner.
So grab a cozy blanket, enjoy the soup, and give yourself permission to just be for a bit.
