bestie, these skincare tips will save your vacay glow š“āØ
No more dry, irritated skināhereās how I kept glowing and selfie-ready all trip long!
Hi friends! āļø
This past week was all about getting back from Mexicoāsun, sand and a suitcase full of chaos. šļø
Between chasing the kids on the beach and fighting off that plane-induced dry skin, my beauty essentials were the real MVPs. (Without them, Iād look like a raisin right now.) šļø
The trip was amazing, but letās be realāmom life doesnāt hit pause just because youāre on vacation.
Burnout is knocking, and Iām figuring out how to press reset with a workout plan that actually fits my schedule and a healthy recipe Iāve been obsessed with lately.
More on that, shall we? āØ
5 skincare tips you NEED for your next tripā¦
Vacation aesthetic: cute on the outside, children screaming just out of frame. š šø
Travel might be amazing for the soul, but letās be realāitās not so great for your skin.
Hereās how I kept my skin smooth & glowingāeven on vacation: āØ
1. A glow + sculpt primer š¦
Planes are basically skin-drying machines. This primer is my secret weapon for staying hydrated, glowy, and not looking like I just survived a desert trek.
Tip: Slather it on before takeoff and touch up mid-flightāyouāll land looking fresh, even if the turbulence tried to ruin your vibe. āØ
2. Lightweight, non-greasy sunscreen āļø
The sun is great for vacation vibes, not so much for your skin. I took this Japanese sun protecting spray everywhere with me. It didnāt leave me greasy or looking like Casper. It melted into my skin and kept me protected all day. My mom also highly recommends it!
Tip: Donāt skimp on reapplying every two hours, even in the shade. Future you will thank you for the effort.
3. Face mist for a quick pick-me-up š§
The heat, the plane air, chasing kidsāmy skin needed a little help staying hydrated. Enter this perfecting mist, a couple of spritzes, and I instantly felt fresher and less blah.
Tip: Keep it in your bag for a midday mist session. Itās like a mini spa moment on the go, and yes, itās extra, but so am I.
4. Cooling after-sun masks š“
After long days in the sun, my skin was not happyāthink redness and that āplease help meā tightness. This overnight mask calmed irritation, evened out my skin tone, and left my skin feeling soft, hydrated, and ready to glow again by morning.
Tip: Slather it on before bed and let it work its magic while you sleep. Youāll wake up with skin that looks like you actually rested on vacation. āØ
5. Tinted moisturizer w/ SPF āØ
Full-on makeup on vacation? Absolutely not. This smooth skin tint gave me enough coverage to feel put together while hydrating and protecting my skin.
Tip: Dab it on with your fingers for that effortless āI just woke up like thisā vibeāeven when you stayed up way too late (because the kids wouldnāt go to bed).
These five saved my skin and my sanity. š«¶
Getting back on track because health is wealth
Vacation was all tacos š®, margaritas š¹ and zero workout vibesāwhich was amazingābut now itās time to get back on track.
Instead of stressing, Iām keeping it simple and easing back into my routine.
Hereās what Iāve been doing:
20-minute weights: 3x per week šŖ (Short, effective, and doesnāt make me hate life.)
Stretching or mobility exercises: 2x per week š§āāļø (Because feeling stiff is not the vibe)
Using MadFit on YouTube š„: (Quick workouts, no fancy equipment, and super easy to follow.) I did this full-body workout yesterday and I loved it!
And because we all know workouts are only half the battle, Iām in my dense bean salad era š„ Why do I love it? Theyāre easy to make, packed with protein, actually taste amazing and it keeps me full.
I saw this recipe on TikTok, made it and absolutely devoured it.
Small steps, no stressājust progress. šŖāØ
Burnout is real and why Iām learning to chillā¦š·
Vacation wine hits differentā¦ because kids. š·š«
People always say, āBusy is good!ā But letās be realābusy can also mean burnout.
Workās been going great (hello 12M views on a video! š«¶), but keeping the momentum means constantly being āon.ā
And then thereās mom life: two kids, endless snacks to refill, and somehow Iām the only one who knows where anything in the house is.
Lately, Iāve been asking myself: Whenās the last time I did something just for me?
So this week, Iām making it a goal to take a half-day offāno phone, no work, just me, snacks, and reruns of Emily in Paris. (Spoiler alert: Rome > Paris. Sorry, not sorry. š)
Itās not about being lazy. Itās about recharging so I can show up for my family and work without running on fumes.
If youāre feeling the sameāstretched thin, constantly āonā and too busy to even sit downāI hope this inspires you to hit pause.
"Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is nothing at all."
Letās make a pact: take some time this week to do something just for you. Even if itās 30 minutes to sip coffee in peace āļø or sneak in a guilty-pleasure show.
Taking time for yourself is the first step to taking care of everyone else. āØ
You got this. šŖ
