Aging and skin secrets I wish I knew sooner...š¤«āØ
Hormone-friendly skincare, easy wellness hacks, and whatās actually working to keep my skin clear, my routine simple, and confidence high as I handle aging surprises! šš
Hi beautiful! āļø
Real talkā¦ever look in the mirror and think, āWaitāwhen did this start happening?ā
Aging has been throwing some surprises my wayā¦
Fine lines, random aches, and a feeling like timeās on fast-forward. š
And donāt even get me started on hormonesātheyāve got my skin acting out like a rebellious teen. š
So this week, Iām sharing whatās actually working: a few tricks to make aging fun, hormone-balancing skincare, and a little win that reminded me how magic happens outside the comfort zone. š
Letās dive in!
pre-period skin struggles are real. This is my skin usually a week before š | hormone-balancing skincare glow is the best kind āØ |
Hormone-happy skincare (because your skin has mood swings too š)
Letās be real: hormones and skin are basically frenemies.
One day Iām glowing, the nextā¦ Iām dealing with breakouts, redness, and all the oil.
Hereās what Iāve found that actually worksāwithout making things worse. š
1. pH-Balancing Cleanser
Hormonal skin loves to overreact, so I stick with a pH-balancing cleanser. When my skin feels sensitive and out of whack, this calms things down without stripping natural oils. TIP: Keeping that pH in check is key to a balanced, happier face. āØ
2. Lactic Acid Serum
Hormones have a way of making my skin look dull, so this lactic acid serum is my secret weapon for smoother, more even skin.
TIP: A little at night, and by morning, my skin has that soft glow Iāve missed. š¤
3. Anti-Blemish Spot Treatment
Breakouts always pop up when you least expect it. This spot remover is a lifesaver! A couple of nights, and those pesky pimples donāt stand a chance. šÆ
TIP: I dab a little right on the breakout, and the salicylic acid gets to work overnight.
4. Dark Spot Treatment
Hormones leave behind dark spots that seem to hang around forever. This dark spot sleep milk helps fade them over time, so my skin looks more even. š
TIP: I apply a thin layer before bed and wake up with skin thatās a little brighter each day.
5. Skin-Balancing Toner & BHA Liquid
This skin balancing toner with BHA liquid exfoliant duo is a must for balancing oil and keeping my pores clear, especially when my hormones are in overdrive. š«
TIP: A quick swipe a few times a week, and it keeps my skin from looking dewy without drying it out.
Getting olderā¦and what actually helped me
Okay, letās call it what it is: getting older feels weird.
Mentally, Iām watching time fly, and physically...hello, random aches.
Kids speed this upāI swear they were babies five minutes ago! š„¹
Hereās whatās made me feel a little less āancient.ā šļø
Stretch Like Itās My Job š§āāļø
I spend 10 minutes each morning stretchingāthink yoga, minus the pretzel moves. My body thanks me, and itās a good reminder that Iām staying in the game (even if my joints disagree).Girl Talk with a Good Friend š
Sometimes, you need that brutally honest friend whoās like, āHey, weāre all agingāletās own it.ā One call, and I feel way less dramatic. Plus, venting? Highly therapeutic.Celebrate the Little Wins š„
No Friday night plans neededāIām celebrating tiny wins, like actually remembering to take my vitamins & drinking enough water throughout the day. These little things feel like a cheers-worthy moment.Prioritize Self-Care (Not Just a Trend) š§“
Taking care of my skin and body is my āme time.ā Even if itās just a face mask, it reminds me Iām worth the effort, fine lines and all.Find Something to Look Forward To āļø
Doesnāt have to be a big tripāsometimes a solo shopping run is all I need, or carving out 20 minutes to read that book Iāve been putting off. Planning something, anything, keeps the excitement alive. And we all deserve that.
Off to my last class! š Hereās to finishing what we startāeven when itās a little scary!
Finishing what you startedā¦
So, remember that class I told you I was taking?
Yep, I finished it! And get thisāI had to speak in front of people!
Yep, me, the one who talks on camera but still gets those nerves when itās in front of people.
Who wouldāve thought?
Doing something uncomfortable was huge for me.
I tell my kids all the time, āKeep going, donāt give up,ā but when I actually had to follow my own advice?
Letās just say it was hard. But hereās the thing:
āļø Finishing Something Scary is the Best Feeling
Iām telling youāpushing through the nerves, the excuses, the āmaybe Iāll do it next weekā thoughtsāitās all worth it. I came out the other side, and it felt amazing. š
āļø Practice What You Preach
I tell my kids every day to stick with things even when theyāre hard, so actually doing this felt good. Next time they need encouragement, Iāve got a fresh reminder to say, āSee? Mom did it. You can too.ā š
